Quality Standards and Disclaimer.

At Old Tobacco Woodworking, we take pride in the fact that everything is handmade. Each piece of wood has been hand-selected to create your beautiful piece of furniture, ensuring that every item reflects the warmth, character, and integrity of true craftsmanship.

Natural Materials & Handmade Craftsmanship

• We work exclusively with real wood, hand selected, hosen for its unique grain, and texture.

• Variations in color, knots, mineral streaks, and surface character are natural and intentional. These features are not flaws but part of the story each piece tells.

• Because every item is crafted by hand, slight differences in dimensions, finish, and detailing may occur. These are signs of authenticity, not imperfection.

Quality Assurance

• All furniture is built to be structurally sound and functional. Cosmetic elements are secondary to durability and usability.

• We inspect each piece before it leaves our shop to ensure it meets our standards for strength, stability, and finish.

• Our finishes are designed to enhance the wood’s natural beauty while offering protection. However, aging and wear may continue to evolve the look over time.

Limitations & Expectations

• Our quality standards do not imply machine-perfect uniformity. We embrace the organic nature of wood and the human touch of craftsmanship.

• Product photos and descriptions are representative but may not capture every nuance of the final piece.

• We reserve the right to update our quality standards as our materials, techniques, and offerings evolve.

Air Dried Wood and Material Variability

By choosing air-dried or otherwise naturally dried wood, the Customer acknowledges and accepts that natural wood products may exhibit greater variability and unpredictability in color, grain, movement, checking, shrinkage, warping, small cracks, and finishing results compared with kiln-dried wood. Old Tobacco Woodworking will take reasonable care and apply standard industry practices when working with air-dried wood, but cannot guarantee that these natural variations will not occur or that results will exactly match samples, photos, or expectations. The Customer agrees that Old Tobacco Woodworking is not responsible for cosmetic issues or dimensional changes that arise from the inherent characteristics of air-dried or naturally seasoned wood.

Deposits, Refunds, and Cancellation

A deposit is required to secure production, order materials, and schedule fabrication. Once paid, the deposit is final and non-refundable because it is used to purchase materials and reserve production time. If the Customer cancels after deposit payment, Old Tobacco Woodworking may retain the deposit in full to cover material and scheduling costs. In the event of a cancellation after production has begun or materials have been ordered, the Customer may be responsible for additional costs beyond the deposit. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to be effective.

Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Old Tobacco Woodworking’s liability for any claim arising from the work is limited to the total amount paid for the affected piece. Old Tobacco Woodworking is not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages.

• Finishes and Aftercare

Finish colors and sheen may vary from samples. The Customer is responsible for following recommended aftercare; failure to do so may void applicable warranty.

By purchasing from Old Tobacco Woodworking, you acknowledge and accept these standards as part of the unique value and charm of handmade furniture.
